Activities during 2010

During 2010 AFROSAI-E plans to implement the following activities. If you want to know details on timing etc. please view the general events calendar of the AFROSAI-E website.

Courses

The last module of the 3-module course in Swaziland starting 2009 will run in May.
A sub regional course will start in Sierra Leone soon, the second module will take place during the second half of the year and the third module will take place in the beginning of 2011.

A data analysis course will be held in December.

At the moment there are not enough resources for any other course in performance audit.


Guidelines and other written material

Guidelines on how to carry out a performance audit on maintenance (this will be the second in a series of guidelines where “Guidelines on waiting time” was the first published in 2008).
AFROSAI-E will also publish an updated version of the AFROSAI-E template performance audit manual.

Quality Assurance Visits

AFROSAI-E carried out a quality review visit in Rwanda.

AFROSAI-E will carry out a few visits to member SAIs on request.

The SNAO Prize

In 2008 we launched the SNAO (Swedish National Audit Office) Prize for the best performance audit report in the region. The prize for 2009 will be handed over at the Auditor Generals’ Board meeting in April. It will consist of one week’s attachment for to SNAO for the winning team.

For this year the competition will be open for all topics. The request is that the report should have been finalized and approved by the SAI, it should have been made public or sent to the parliament for tabling or to the auditee during 2010. It shold not taken more than one year from start of pre-study to finalized and not have been produced by consultants.

Website

The AFROSAI-E general web page will be developed. The performance audit webpage of the AFROSAI-E website will be further developed by adding on the ability for SAIs to upload performance audit reports, etc. We have also created special forums and these can be used by trainers and participants at our courses or be opened for other performance audit groups.
